Getting started
- Sole traders and small Australian trade businesses — electricians, plumbers, builders, painters, landscapers, handymen and similar.
- Create your account at app.propertradie.com.au/sign-up. Complete company onboarding with trade type, ABN, bank details and branding.
- Yes. Start with a free trial. ProperTradie Pro Monthly is A$49.99/month after the trial.
- Yes for the app. In-app Android subscriptions direct you to subscribe on the website for now.
Quotes
- Yes. ProperTradie is mobile-first. Build quotes on site with line items, photos and terms.
- Yes. Save reusable catalogue items and pull them into new quotes. Save new lines from the quote builder too.
- Up to 12 photos per quote or invoice. Toggle customer visibility per photo.
Quote approval
- During public quote approval, the customer requests a code sent to their Australian mobile on file. Twilio Verify handles OTP — only for approval, not link delivery.
- No. You convert an approved quote to an invoice when ready to bill.
- Yes. You can accept a quote in the app which approves and creates a linked invoice.
Invoices
- Share a public invoice link via your phone's SMS app or copy the link. ProperTradie does not auto-send SMS.
- Yes. Your BSB, account number and payment instructions from company profile appear on invoices and public invoice links.
- Public invoice links show payment history for confirmed payments and balance due.
Payments
- No. Track cash, bank transfer and other manual payments. Customers report payments from invoice links; you confirm in the app.
- When a customer reports a payment from the invoice link, it creates a pending_review payment until you confirm or reject it.
- Yes. Deposits, progress payments and final balances update invoice status when confirmed.
AI
- Draft quotes and invoices from text, voice or photos. Scan expense receipts. You review all output before use.
- 100 per month on Pro, resetting monthly. Top-ups of 100 credits for A$8.99.
- No. AI helps with drafting. You set final prices and scope.
Expenses
- Material, labour, subcontractor, travel, equipment, permit, insurance, business and other types linked to invoices.
- Upload a receipt image. AI extracts fields for 1 credit. Edit before saving.
Customers
- Yes. Individual and business types with contact, address and display name fields.
- No. Snapshots preserve point-in-time data on each document when created.
Subscriptions
- A$49.99/month for ProperTradie Pro Monthly with a free trial.
- Subscribe on website via Stripe or on iPhone via Apple. Web subscribers manage billing in Stripe portal.
Security and public links
- Quote and invoice links use tokenised URLs. Quote approval requires SMS verification.
- ProperTradie uses Supabase and Cloudflare R2 for secure cloud storage.
What ProperTradie does not do
- No for quote/invoice delivery. You share links from your SMS app. Twilio is only for customer quote-approval OTP.
- No. It helps with job admin, not tax compliance or BAS lodgement.
- No accounting integrations in the current product.
- No. No job scheduling, dispatch, timesheets or payroll modules.
- Not today. You share links yourself via SMS or other channels.
